Bandit’s Bed Roll
Here’s a product I designed myself - the first one for my FXR.The bike was sleek and rowdy with highbars, a springer front end and shotgun pipes. I wanted to be able to go on weekend runs without saddlebags or sissybars.
My inspiration came from the cowboy bedroll behind the saddle on Trigger. After some messing around and with the help of some other bikers,it worked like a champ. We even discovered it could be used in different locations on various bikes.I strap mine with a couple of tie raps over my headlights. I’ve also strapped it over my rear fender like the outlaws of the Old West did. And if you have a tall sissybar, it can be strapped to it.Lots of options.
We designed this storage roll to cover all the bases, cause I don’t like a lot on my bike.The bag itself is about 2 feet long and 6 inches in diameter.The ends have zipper pockets for incidentals.I usually put my lock, keys,matches and chapstick in one end and slip maps, tickets, receipts and acouple of bungie cords into the other one. The entire length of the bag unzips for packing ease and I found I could pack enough clothes for a longweekend.
One of the hot ideas that came out of the research stage was the tool flap over the outside center section of the bag. The flap has heavy bands of elastic in it for tools and the flap contains a massive pocket which I pack with tie raps, electrical tape, master links and a set of allen wrenches.
The Bandit’s Bed-Roll is heavy duty and designed for rider’s comfort. Bandit uses one every year for his trip to Sturgis. With his workout shoes strapped to the top it forms a cool windshiels, and he’s good to go.
